Access Panel

Sheetmetal tends to be relatively flat before heat is added during the welding process.  With enough clamps and positive stops positioned around the perimeter of the panel, all of the loose pieces can be secured before welding.  Proper weld sequencing and allowing the part to cool while still in the fixture helps to maintain the overall quality of the weldment.

Fixture Highlights

  • Right and left hand angles attached to table sides locates edge of panel

  • Swing down locators on the faces of the angles position the channels

  • Flip up end stops can be flipped down to remove the part when finished

  • 6 clamps generate over 1,800 pounds of total force to hold the part flat
